Hi Guys,

As the title says, I'm running Sequoia and am having an issue where Time Machine just will not recognise my HD.

The disk shows on my Desktop and I can open it to see previous backups, but when I try and back up it fails and I see the following message. I've removed the HD and reconnected. I've shut down and restarted. But nothing works.

How can I fix this please?

I ran first Aid and still no good.

I've searched online and can't find find any solutions. Really don't want to wipe the HD and start from scratch.

Grrrrrrr! And it's doing it again. And this time, removing and reading doesn't work either.

I really hate to be one of those people who complain about the way things just no longer work on Apple devices, but I really am finding this kind of stuff on both my Mac and iPhone.

I might just move back to CCC.

What sort of disk is it…?
I found a bus powered drive was problematic (in Sonoma), backups where not accessible from the TM gui, but where from Finder.
So changed to a powered one instead, which works fine.

Hi Mark, thanks for your reply.

It's a USB Lacie drive, connected via USB A using Sequoia.

I removed the drive and re-added and that again has done the trick. I just dont understand why I have to do this every time.
