Time Machine not recognizing old backups

Yesterday, I moved my Time Machine from a 500 GB hard drive to a 1 TB drive. Everything seems to have worked, except I cannot look at backups older than February 2009.

When I browse the Time Machine drive in finder, I can look through the backups before February 2009 and the time machine pref pane shows my oldest backup as December 25, 2007, but the Time Machine app doesn't see them. Any ideas?
