I have 3 codes to Office 11.
I've used 2 and my buddy wants to buy the last one.

If I sell it to him and use all 3 codes and have to restore from Time Machine in the future will Office work? Or would I have to use that 3rd activation code?

Or should the Time Machine restore just let Office know it's the same machine and I won't need any code?

Technically the 3 licenses are for one household and secondly the activation is tied to the hard drive. Restoring to the same computer should be ok, though I never tried it. I assume like other MS activations you may need to call and explain the situation (restoring a backup on the same computer).

Well he's my roommate so we're in ONE household ;)
And I would hope that they would somehow have a way of knowing I restored my from Time Machine and it IS the same computer.

Has anyone had to Time Machine Restore? Did it work?
