Time machine on new retina IMac ?

Is Time Machine working properly on the new IMacs ? I see lots of TM issues on Yosemite that are being discussed in the OSX forum.
My wife's new IMac comes tomorrow and I'd like to know if I can count on TM or not.

Yes, but I wondered a virgin install of Yosemite on the new hardware might clear up some issues.

Can anyone with a new iMac comment ? The biggest issues was the inability to restore files from TM backups.
I guess Ill see for myself

No problems using TM with my base level iMac 5k. Clean install, not a restore from a previous time machine backup.

I am zero problems with either Yosemite or TM, been use Yosemite since last July and it's been incredibly stable since about August.
