Now, I have Googled this, and searched within and to be honest, have yet to find anything that offers any help whatsoever...

Time Machine on Snow Leopard starts indexing backup, then never gets beyond 1%. I now haven't had an automatic backup since last month, and am a bit concerned.

How can I get Time Machine working again..? I thought about formatting the TM HD, but can't actually even see an option to do that!

All help gratefully received, and anyone who posts a ****** link will receive a virtual punch..! ;)

You can reformat it using Disk Utility, not sure if you can do it from within TM itself but I don't think so.

Thankfully those links aren't allowed here.

Would reformatting be likely to make any difference - is it a known cure..? I'm loathe to lose the backups from before it went belly up, if it's not going to help.
