I just got a rMB 2017 and ported everything over from my 2015 version which i started off fresh 1.5 years ago. 200gb used up. should i keep the backup or start fresh with the 2017? ill be deleting half of this stuff on drive but want to know if there is old clutter holding my speeds back

I did a Migration and all went well, or so I thought, but for some reason my Safari's homepage couldn't be changed no matter what I did. I ended up doing a reinstall of Sierra through the Disk Recovery menu, keeping all the account info and stuff and now all works well.

I think it may have been a permissions issue or something. There is no option for permissions repairs these days in Disk Utility.

Because it was SSD to SSD, the migration and the macOS reinstall went quickly, much more quickly than reinstalling all my old software would have taken.
