Time Machine Over AE Base Station: no button labels when in Time Machine, help?

Just got a brand new MBP and I've connected an HD to my AE Base Station to use for Time Machine. Backs up just fine, but when I entered TM this morning, here's what I got (see screenshot below). Notice the lack of labels on the bottom buttons. I've repaired permissions and everything is up to date software-wise. I've used TM before (not on this machine tho) and never saw this problem.

MBP 15' 2.5Ghz C2D in clamshell mode connected to a 19' LCD (1680x1050), running 10.5.3.

Any ideas guys?
