Hi all,
I have a Samsung HX-M101TCB/G (M3 Portable 1TB) hard disk I use to backup all my Mac machines at home (1 iMac 5k, 1 rMBP 15" and 1 rMPB 13").
I have 1 partition (DATA) of 500GB formatted in ExFAT I use to store movies and so on.
The other partition (BACKUP) of 500GB formatted in HFS+ used by Time Machine to backup my machines.
The problem is that is the 3rd time in 2 months that the BACKUP partition get corrupted and I can't mount it anymore from any of my Macs.
The only way is to start over with a new partition and lose all my backups.
I have already tried to repair it with the Disk Utility but it just says that it can't repair it. ("File system check exit code is 8")
I'd like to understand why it gets corrupted so often and how to prevent it...
I always unmout my hard disk properly.
Thanks!
