Hi, just got my Mac (today!) and want to start using my external harddrive with TM.

I want to partition my 160GB External Hard drive into two partitions;
100GB of HFS+
60GB FAT32

I've been into disk utility and reformatted it so I now have one HFS+ partition and one 'blank space'. I can't seem to partition the blank space to FAT32.

I know it's possible, but what do I need to do?

I have a feeling it's something to do with the fact that I'm using Apple Partition Map. (I know I can't use MBR with TM).

Anybody got a guide for a n00b!? I've been looking for around an hour now!

Try using the GUID partition type. That's meant for Intel Macs and should be the type Macs ship with now and I'm pretty sure BootCamp needs it to do it's windows partition as well.
