time machine problem

I have a time machine backup from my computer and am trying to restore a file from it on my wife's mac.
i hold the option button and click time machine on the menu bar and select browse other time machine. Time machine interface opens up but i am not able to browse and see the old back ups.
i tried changing the folder but still nothing happens.

am i doing something wrong , need help to solve this.
