Time machine problem

I have recently changed my TM drive from a 500GB WD to a 1TB WD. BAck up completed without issue, but on testing I can enter time machine without issue from the finder but am unable to enter it from mail (Mac just freezes until I hit 'Escape') or iPhoto (this does enter the TM interface but the back up screens disappear as you browse through them and are not accessible).

DO you think this is an issue with the new drive or has one of the leopard updates caused the problem? (I haven't really check time machine since around 10.5.3 or 4. on the old external drive where everything was fine)

At least one person reports turning off Spaces worked (no explanation for it yet). Can you try and see if that works for you?

Yep it works. Did you find out about that on this forum? Could you provide a link?

Is this something that is likely to be addresses in a later software update??

Sounds like a strange issue. The link is http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9916673 -- and hopefully it will get fixed in one of the future releases. I'd suggest filing a bug report http://developer.apple.com/BugReporter/ (needs free registration).
