I use an external HDD for all my backups on all my devices on Time Machine. I usually attach and mount this HDD directly on the device when doing the backup.

But I have a situation right now that I cannot directly attach to another mac that i want to backup at this time. I can access the remote current device that has the HDD attached to it and logged in using Apple Remote Desktop. I also mounted the remote mac via Finder | Go | Connect to Server ...

Now, can I use the HDD device to TM backup into this "remote server" with drive directly attached to?

Sorry for the long winded question.

As you can see, my HDD is remotely mounted. When I clicked on "Backup Now", I get the displayed screen.

Appreciate any input.
