Tried to find an answer by searching but none really gave me the answer, so hopefully someone here can clarify...

I have a mac with 2 hard drives, both are being backed to a single external time machine drive.

If say I moved to a mac in the future with just one hard drive would time machine be able to restore everything without problems?

Thanks

what you could do is keep the os on one hard drive and all other data on another, and not encrypt the time machine back up. that way when you do use time machine on your new hard drive, after its finished, plug in the back up drive and just drag and drop everything from it you want. I have done this multiple times. time machine will separate the two drives into folders.
