Can someone tell me how to configure Time Machine so it doesn't do a complete backup every time?

I seem to get constant errors because my disk space fills up quickly. For some reason I don't think it did this when I first started using it. I use SuperDuper also, but have a drive connected to my iMac all the time for Time Machine.

Well Time Machine won't do a complete backup "everytime" unless you managed to modify every file on your Mac.

It does an initial complete backup of every file, then backups up only the modified files every hour.My guess is your external harddrive must be small or you have a lot of files on your Mac.

Maybe you should EXCLUDE system files, and only backup your music, movies, docs, and pictures?

(I say to exclude system files because your making bootable complete copies from your other app).

First go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES, then to TIME MACHINE.
Go to OPTIONS, and click the + to add folders.
