Time Machine Question

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread that answered it.

I was wondering how to continue to use a TM backup as the current one after restoring to a new computer. For background, I have a mid-09 unibody MBP and when SL came out I also upgraded my HD so I did a fresh install of SL on a new HD and restored from TM. That all went fine and I have everything back, but now TM won't sync because there isn't space on the disk since my old backups are still there. Is there a way to make those the current backups, in case I need something that wasn't in the most recent TM backup that I restored to. (sorry for all the acronyms).

i haven't had much success with this either. i think you are just supposed to start over. if you find a solution, let me know.

Thanks for that link. I will try this when I get home. You'd think this would be easier.haha.
