Time Machine Question

I have 2nd hd with time machine backup that I do with leopard... now Im on a fresh new clean install with snow leopard ... so I want continue using time machine for snow leopard on the same 2nd hd so if I put it to backup they continue without problems making the backup on Backups.backupdb ? or I need delete first that folder and make the backup later ?
