ive been having some problems with my iMac freezing , so I decided to reinstall using my TimeMachine backup

These are the instructions I followed ..

To recover your entire system:

Step 1

Connect your Time Machine backup disk to your computer.

If you’re restoring your system because of a problem with your startup disk, make sure the disk has been repaired or replaced.

Step 2

Insert your Mac OS X Install disk, and double-click the Install Mac OS X icon.

Step 3

In the Installer, choose Utilities > Restore System from Backup.

Step 4

In the Restore Your System dialog, click Continue.

Step 5

Select your Time Machine backup volume.

Step 6

Select the Time Machine backup you want to restore.

Step 7

Follow the onscreen instructions.

every thing went well and I got this message .....

Your system has been restored successfully

I then got a box on screen saying ......

You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the power button again.

I did this and the computer chimed and restarted and just went back to the same message about you need to restart your computer . Hold down the Power button ..

it seems to be in an endless loop of asking to restart the computer

has any one got an idea what to try next please :(
