I've searched and have not found an answer to my specific situation that works.
My iMac hard drive failed and the Apple Store replaced it under warranty.
When I tried to restore from my TM backup, it would not recognize the most recent backup (although I can see this backup from within Finder) but rather, one from back in November. I decided to try and restore the November backup and then see if I could roll forward to the 2/22/14 backup.
Unfortunately, once the Time Machine restore was completed, I've got a dock full of question marks and no applictions in the applications folder except for an Adobe Install folder.
