Hey everyone,

I didnt find anything useful in the search I did, so here goes: I just ordered a new 15" MBP and I want to know how I can get a carbon copy of my old MBP, desktop icons and all, onto the new machine. Do I just hookup my time machine drive? Have any of you done this?

Thanks!

Hook up the drive. Restart the computer with your Leopard Disk in, hit and hold "C" to boot to the disk. there should be a disk utility drop down menu, then select Restore from Time Machine backup. Find the restore point you want and let it go.
