Time Machine Set Up With AEBS and External Hard Drive

Long time lurker and first time poster so be patient....

I currently have two macbook pros running time machine over an AEBS to two different external hard drives. Both of those drives are now too small to do adequate backups and I have ordered a Western Digital 2TB drive and want to set it up as sharing 1TB per machine on a Time Machine (at different times via Time Machine Editor). I thought I had the right info to do this but now I am not so sure. Anybody else tried this and got it to work?
