It recently gave me an error reading and told me to change something in Time Machine preferences. The Time Machine drive is full, I've had it for a while, so it obviously is overwriting old data. But I go into preferences and I don't see anything I can change that would make it work.

All Time Machine does now is spin around in the menu bar when it tries to back itself up, but it never stops spinning or work.

Help?

Should I just reformat the drive?
