I went into Time Machine and noticed that my backups seem to stop 1 month or less (June) ago and I'd like to recover some files from 2-3 months ago.

HOW?

Disc is full? Once the HDD runs out of room for writing new backups, it deletes older ones. So your HDD obviously only has enough room for about one month's worth of backups.

Check the available space on your TM drive. If it's not nearly full, then maybe there are other issues.

Time Machine time

Disk could be full- it is Time Capsule 1T.

If so, is there a good way to periodically off load backups to future uses?

Default is to warn when Time Machine deletes old backups. You can check this feature off--but if it is on, they you would be warned if any of the old backups were being deleted. Option is changed in Time Machine Preferences.

My Time Capsule is full so I've checked it off--hard to imagine your 1TB is full, mine is only 500GB and I still have a year and a half of backups.

I agree that it seems hard that 1T if full...

How does one find out how much room is left on the Time Capsule?

I see the Time Capsule in Finder, but under SIZE there is nothing.

Time Machine time

I looked in Time Machine to find an older backup--about Late May.

There are none past first of June.

My Time Machine is on 1T- Time Capsule. When I look in Finder, I don't see what size Time Machine is. It shows up as my-IMAC (3) sparsebundle with date and no size, and SPARSE DISK IMAGE BUNDLE.

Is there a way to have it save like once a week on older back ups?
I had a corrupt Entourage and it wiped out all my e-mails, contacts, and calendars, so I need to go back prior to June to get the correct info.
