Hi guys,

I'm trying to backup my rMBP running Mavericks to a network drive on a PC server running Windows 7.

I have a few network drives on that server that I connect via SMB with no complications.

But I just learnt that Time Machine does not support backing up via SMB. This leaves me with just AFP. However Mavericks does not even connect to the windows via AFP let alone back up to it.

I have found this old thread that I did not wish to revive. But I tried almost every suggestion there. Like disabling sharing/restarting/enabling sharing or disabling sharing/restarting/enabling just afp sharing.

None seems to work for me. My main problem is I just cannot connect to the server via AFP. Even if I disable SMB. What should I do?
