ho all I backed up to a hard drive thatthrough time machine on my old iMac and could never managed to get all my old stuff onto new iMac can’t rember the issue but went to try and get onto old iMac and try again only to find the screen is stuffed just orange so can’t control anything to get stuff off any ideas? I’m not overly computer minded but can follow instructions

If your screen is broken and you don't want to fix it, the best thing would be to take out the hard disk and put it into an external enclosure which you can plug into another Mac. How you do it depends on the age of your Mac, but there are guides on youtube.
 
boot old Mac in target mode and connect to new Mac?

would be one way if screen duff on old Mac without taking it apart
