I've recently purchased the WD 1TB My Book for Mac. It's 1TB which is more than enough space to backup both of my Macs. I was just curious if anyone has used one external HD to backup two different Macs via Time Machine before....and if they had any trouble.

All Fine

Yeah, I use a 3TB to back up my iMac and my MacBook Air. It all will work perfectly, if you navigate into the backup HDD you will see that TimeMachine creates 2 separate folders (one for each of your backup machines).

I wouldn't say that 1 TB is more than enough for two computers, though it should be adequate as long has you don’t back up lots movie files.

Yes you can to what you want. Some people might argue that it would be best to make separate partition for each computer, though it should be alright without this.
