I've noticed a bit of an issue with Time Machine being very slow. Is anyone else experiencing this?

For example I can activate TM when I am using Mail, but it takes absolutely ages (and I mean *ages*) before it will allow me to scroll through the different backup times/dates.

Doesn't look very good when I'm trying to demo this function to my Windows owning friends as it looks like it has frozen and doesn't work!

What are the specs of your mac?
If you have an older G5, or even a G4, TM might be quite slow, because it needs a pretty fast CPU and quite a bit RAM power.

I have a 1.8 GHz G5 with 2G GB of memory! TM runs decently, but I can imagine that lower specs may cause issues like freezing.
You could upgrade your memory for a better performance!

Furthermore, the rotational speed of your TM-harddrive might play a role.
There's a considerable difference in speed and performance, between 5400 and 7200 rpm! It's also better to have two drives with the same speed.

It's a 2007 Intel quad core Mac Pro with 4GB of memory. It is mainly used for video editing so my harddrives and memory specs are all high performance.
