Time Machine via volume sharing?

Hello!

I almost always have my external HD attached to my MacBook. I want my wife's computer to be able to back up over our AirPort by sharing the drive.

For some reason it says her computer doesn't have the proper permissions for the remote backup, but it works when her computer is directly connected to the HD.

Any suggestions?
