Need help. I am starting to think that switching from Airport Extreme to the Time Capsule was a mistake... the router portion of the Time Capsule is giving me a lot of trouble. Not sure what to do...
Here is the deal, in early December I decided to replace my fried 3-year I-love-it-to-death Airport Express for an Airport Extreme AND a new Airport Express (to get the air tunes). Got both, went back home, everything worked like a charm. By everything I mean running 2 laptops, a tivo, an xbox (netflix or live) and even the iphone, great speed great performance (not sure how fast, but as a measure of ignorant comparison, xbox live did not drop, netflix did not adjust streaming, tivo recorded everything...)
Within a few days I realized that it would have been wiser for me to buy the Time Capsule as I realized I was long overdue for a backup of all of my data and ad everything in multiple smaller drives. So, happy with the Airport Extreme performance went to the store without giving it a thought... Enter Sandman...
WTF? the whole thing is not working well at all. My connection seems to have slowed down to a snail pace, wireless is very slow, tivo missed stuff, can't shoot in xbox live and netflix picture quality is worse than the iphone. I thought the modem was acting up and had it replaced, nothing.
I am thinking very seriously to go back to Extreme. What gives? I thought it was the same technology. HELP PLEASE!
