Hello Everyone,
I need a little help, I tried to setup Time Machine for the first time on my MBP and got the error message "time machine could not be configured. the built-in network interface could not be found.".

I came to realize my built in NIC appears to be broken and not showing up, it's as if it does not exist. I don't know how this happened as I never used it.

Apparently Time Machine is looking for the "Primary Interface" to capture its MAC address. The problem is it only wants to use the built-in interface, I would assume for security purposes.

The error reported in the Console by Time Machine is "_CSBackupGetMachineMACAddress - IOServiceGetMatchingServices did not find an ethernet service with kIOPrimaryInterface true".

Does anyone know how I can set the IOPrimaryInterface key to true for the Airport card in MBP? That way I can have Time Machine begin to work with that card rather that replacing my logic board. My machine is out of warranty so that would be rather expensive.

I searched high and low and haven't found an answer for this. One thread on another forum suggested using the Apple USB Ethernet adapter so I bought one yesterday but no cigar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
