When I open applications and click an application it opens on my dock. Not so with Time Machine. Also if I drag the Time Machine icon to my dock it won't 'dock'.
Right now it's sitting on my desktop. Opened permissions - that was A-OKAY.
Also when I searched for a folder that's in my back-up folder on MY EXTERNAL DRIVE, Spotlight couldn't find it. I had to find it myself.
Any suggestions? I'm on a G5 powerMac.

You might not be dragging the icon down far enough onto the dock. Leopard's new glass dock requires dragging the icon basically to the very bottom of the dock. It works fine on mine.

Time Machine is not an app, it will not "open" like a normal app. So no blue dot underneath it.

I have no problem adding it and removing it from the dock.

It is an application.

And I have no problem dragging it off and onto my Dock. You are dragging it from the Applications folder right..?
