The Waste
I've got a Time Machine that seems to be acting funny. I've been using wireless backups for quite some time now, but apparently they haven't been backing up. I just tried to restore to a point from one week ago, and while the date shows up in Time Machine, it is grayed out and I do not have the option to restore from that date. The last date I can restore to is October 1st.

Since the reason for this restore is because my wireless has been acting up, I connected my MBP directly to our Airport Extreme (I'm using an external drive as my TM drive), and all of a sudden it needs to back up over 12GB of data. Off the back of my hand, that seems to be about the amount of data that has changed on the machine since October 1st, which apparently was the last time a proper backup took place.

Why has this been happening? Time Machine has been starting up every hour on the hour, supposedly backing up all my data, and then when it comes time to actually use it I am unable to. Very, very frustrating. Can anyone shed some light on this to prevent it from happening in the future?
