Time Machine won't show backups

Entering Time Machine doesn't show any previous backups, although I know I've been doing backups for months. I've previously had this problem, where entering TM showed no backups. I ignored the problem and then tried again at a later date, and it worked again...not sure what happened, but this time I actually need to access my backup now.

What gives????

Please disregard. Restarting fixed the problem.

Actually - the problem is back. Restarting did not work.

What's up with the inconsistency? It seems as if Time Machine works on its own schedule....

FYI, I only started noticing this once I "upgraded" to Snow Leopard.
