Hello,
I haven't be able to use time machine with my external drive because i don't want to "re-format" it.
Can i make a partition to my external drive so i can keep my files and use time machine at the same time?

Yes. And make sure you allocate enough space for the TM backup. It's first run will dump everything you have. Subsequent backups are much less demanding.

Is there any possibility that you can temporally move your files to another drive, format your external, then move them back? If you have to many files to do this, you may consider buying another external for your time machine back up. I know of no way to resize your partition with a 100% guarantee that you will not loose your data.
