sometimes text messages arrive with a date/time stamp telling me when they were sent to/received by me. Other times I get nothing but the message - no date or time, so I can't tell when the message came. Does anybody know what getting a date and time depends on? Thanks!!

Usually if a period of time passes between SMS messages you'll get a visible timestamp. When you're "having an SMS conversation" where you text back and forth, that's when they don't appear.
