hi all- how accurate are the time stamps in location services? My wifes phone shows she was at a bar from 10pm-130am when I was on a business trip.

She said she drove past the location while driving around bored.

Is there anyway this could be true?

I don't know what to do. She is adamant that she wasn't there, even with my proof. Some Of her other time stamps on locations are 10-30 min wrong, but not hours...

It's totally accurate. You're being lied to. If she just drove past the location for a few minutes then it wouldn't even show up there.

Damn, I wish this were wrong.

How do they work?

Bc there were some that were obviously wrong, like we were at the grocery store and it showed up at a movie theatre two blocks over and the times for the grocery store were even wrong by 20 min.

Mine are close to the times all the time they might only be a couple of minutes off. As for the locations themselves mine are usually small centered around where I was at unless I was indoors with poor signal. I also don't have every visit to some location like work is missing visits.

However I have never had frequent locations show up just driving past a place. Even driving the same route all the time it only show if I spent time at the location. Even then it usually doesn't show up unless it is a place I've been to before.
