I am cloning my MBP internal 7200rpm 500GB HDD with Carbon Copy Cloner.
I am copying it to an external 5400rpm 1TB HDD, that is connected with a FW800 cable.
The progress bar shows about 50%, but the numbers indicate something else.
At 0.77GB/min it will take 'forever" to complete.
Are SuperDuper or Disk Utility faster?
What is the typical time you guys experience when cloning your HDD?

Depends on what you're cloning and where your cloning it to. I do a backup clone on our PowerMac at work, and the internal MacHD(200Gb) cloned to another internal drive takes about 45 minutes. The external drive(350Gb) cloned via firewire to the same internal drive, takes about 2 hours.

Oh, and the progress bar isn't always accurate.

I recently used CCC to clone the stock 500GB Hitachi over USB 2.0 to a WD 750GB 7200 RPM. About 380GB were in use. It took about 9 - 10 hrs.
