Time to upgrade or Wait

My son has an iphone 4S, (my old Handset). the Battery is not lasting as long as it should but not terrible. I want to get him and new phone (has an upgrade) but if we get an new iphone 5 is that a waste since the 5S is in the wings?

If I was you i'll wait. unless you're getting the iPhone 5 for free.

I'd wait too. There are plenty of battery backups that you plug your phone into if you're really concerned about battery life.
