Time zone support in Yosemite

When I get a calendar invite from California in Mavericks iCal does not save it correctly in my time zone - Mountain. When it is saved in the calendar in Outlook 2011 it does save using the correct time. A 9 a.m. appointment in Pacific time recognized as ten a.m. in Outlook.

Will iCal in Yosemite do a better job in recognizing the correct time based on the time zone I am in?
