iPhone Timer on iPhone 11 lock screen

Hi guys, is this a glitch on an iPhone 11 - when I set a timer via the Clock app, when the screen is locked I no longer see the timer ticking down. I tried it on my wife's iphone 6 and you can see the timer on lock screen. Oth of us are running the latest ios.
