Tiny Death Star sync between iphone & ipad

I play Tiny Death Star on my iPhone, mostly during lunch breaks. I've already built quite a few levels and enjoying the game a lot.
On our iPad, I installed the game as well, but it makes me start from scratch. Strange, because I'm using the same account on both devices, game center is activated on both devices with the same account...
I'd like to be able to play on both devices, pick up wherever I left off, regardless of the platform...
Both the iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S run the latest version of iOS 7...

Any ideas ?

The game has to support sync between iDevices. So you can try and ask the developer of the game?
