I noticed yesterday when I was outside there are hundreds of tiny little specs on the surface "I think" of my 5s screen, I don't think its dust under the screen as they are on the black parts top and bottom of the glass also, if they were under there they would not be visible, I have cleaned the surface and they are still there but only in direct sunlight at a certain angle, is this just the way the glass is made or should I be concerned?

Probably micro scratches from use. If doesn't affect your usage, I wouldn't worry about it.

Even so it's a cosmetic issue so not covered under warranty.

^ Don't let this put you off. Take it in anyway - Apple are VERY good with faults and flaws.

...and it's the minor tiny things like this that make me glad I keep my 5s in a lifeproof. No apple warranty needed if you take care of your phone. :D
