I hope tiny wings 2 is decent - the trailer doesnt exactly tell you anything useful. It's still a bit odd that Tiny Wings never had an iPad version!

iPad version where they charge $2.99 for a HD version?

Yeah they'd probably make a killing

There is no "they".

Tiny Wings was made by a single person, Andreas Illiger, part-time after his day job. I believe he spent about 7 months on it. It wouldn't surprise me if nearly half of that time was nothing but polish and refinement.

The music in TinyWings put me in a trance and kept me playing for ages, I hope the music in the second one is just as good.

Great to think a simple idea, a lot of hard work and plenty of attention to detail can still yield results (and generate a few euros).

not sure if he had a day job. isn't he like 16 years old?

Tiny Wings 2

I'm going with Tiny Wings 2. Hope it has music just like The First. I also hope it has just as many achievments, they kept me playing a long time trying to get the Gamecenter/ Openfeint achievments.

I wouldn't be surprised if this new version is universal. very likely also with retina graphics etc.

It seems odd from our view but this is a single developer not a shop. And it's very possible that this is a side thing for him.

Well, really - it doesn't matter if it's a side thing or not. He's making millions from this app. Really smart of him to release a sequel, it'll likely be amazing and he'll have 2 apps consistently in the top50 paid apps on the iOS store. Pretty good for one person.

He's a 30-year old professional software developer from Germany.

The guy's been interviewed many times (google "Andreas Illiger interview"). I think after 4 months of the app being on sale, he quit his job. Tiny Wings was in the Top 10 apps in most countries for a while, and even hit #1 for a few weeks in many countries (including the US, bumping Angry Birds off the top spot for several weeks). He made a very, very real amount of money off of it. It sold over 5.6 million units.

Amazing Alex reminds me of The Incredible Machine or Enigmo.

Yes, it it similar to those, but identical to Casey's Contaptions (apart form the branding, obviously). They must have bought it and promote it as new and their own creation.

TW is my all time favorite iPhone game...
It's awesome that I'll get the iPhone update for free.

It actually plays really well on the iPad -- its the kind of art that looks quite good scaled 2x. But I'll buy the HD version, too.
