Wow just wow. This program keeps getting better all the time.

http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/2010/10/tinyumbrella-new-ui-complete.html#idc-container

* Totally redesigned UI for all platforms (inspired by chpwn refined by me)
o Original artwork by iOPK of Chronic Dev Team
o Spinny Icon code (thanks to technomage)
o Quaqua look and feel (sorry mac only due to license restrictions)
o Much cleaner look and feel all around
* Known Devices!
o Now all devices detected by TinyUmbrella are saved for future use!
o You can remove them as well :) (Right click -> delete from history)
o You can save SHSH with known devices as well (No more requirement for the device to be connected)
* Recovery Devices
o If you connect a device in recovery mode you can still kick it out of recovery (Right click -> Kick out of recovery)
* Save SHSH now saves ALL SHSHs available at Cydia with one button press!
* Preferences
o Change SHSH save directory
* Proxies (Web and Socks) for those that need them!
* Better port 80 detection.

Love it, these 3 are a biggy for me:D

Nice feature added is the ability to change your host file on exit either to Saurik or Apple. So many have problems with making this change.

My iPhone 4 doesnt show up when it's connected. And my problems with TU continue.

Thats why I advocate manual methods. Since its so easy to do manually what TU does, I see few reasons to use it.

However, it is gaining more functionality and does have it's place.

and you're posting in this thread because?

Because he wants to kick Tiny Umbrella in the teeth.....he has a personal vendetta against the app.

I find Tiny Umbrella quite simple to use...even when I have issues (rare) they are easy to solve. The new version looks great and I look forward to using it.

+1 Personally, I'm getting quite fed up with kre62 grinding his axe in every thread that even mentions TU.

These new updates are wonderful. The ability to download all SHSH with a single click is sweet, as is the ability to save device info for future use. I also like the ability to change the SHSH save directory; it's always been annoying that I couldn't save my SHSH right to my Pwnage folder.

Can't start TSS server

When I connect my phone, TU gives me an error that TSS can't be started. "httpd (PID:36) must be killed!"

Anyone got any idea? I've used older versions of TU in the past without problems.

sorry, forgot to include that my iphone is IP4 on 4.1 limera1n.

Sweet, more cryptic error messages that require hours of troubleshooting.

Killing a process is pretty simple. On your Mac go to the applications folder then to the utilities folder, fire up activity monitor and you can kill the process based on its PID which is viewable in this program.

I downloaded TU, installed it and now it does not open the program... What would cause this? It does not give errors, just does nothing.. Running mac fwiw

Just downloaded this to my mac and tried opening it but is keeps asking for may password to open it and when I do, TinyUmbrella closes up, tried this several times, no luck... I have a new iP4 that came with 4.0.2 and updated with 4.1. What should I know about this process and how to I save my SHSH files there?

It needs to have administrator access so it is asking for that password.

Ok, so I installed this new version, now I cannot restore my iphone. iTunes says "unable to connect to the server".

I tried deleting the entry in my host file, but no luck.

What can I do to update my phone to 4.1?
