Hello everyone, I am a mac newbie. Purchased a new 2.5 17" hi def macbook pro. I love it. I just got into video editing so trying to learn as much as I can. I ordered FCE 4 because imovie 08 just did not do it for me. I have watched the tutorials from Apple's web site. I was wondering if you could give me some tips or links to other tutorials to make the transition easier. I am also going to be purchasing a HD camcorder in the near future. Tip's on anything to look out for or something else I would need like an external hdd would be appreciated.

Thanks

Any suggestions on a good external hard drive to use with FCE4?

Often times it is cheaper to buy the external enclosure separate from the actual Hard Drive. This is what I did from newegg...

External Enclosure: Rosewill Quad interface Enclosure
Cost: $90

Hard drive: Western Digital 750 GB AAKS
Cost: $130

The hard drive rocks, it has great reviews. I bought two of them on separate occasions, and will be buying more when I get another HDV project over the summer. The quad interface lets you edit over Firewire800, which rocks, or eSata, Firewire400, or lastly usb. Good Luck!
