I have always updated my Mac to the newest OS X versions. There are now many junk files on my Mac, and I'd like to take this opportunity to back-up my content and start fresh without dealing with legacy system files, temp folders, etc from my previous updates.

When Mavericks drops, I am going to restore from scratch. I've tried to stick to iCloud whenever possible, as in the event of a hard drive failure or lost device, everything would be accessible on the cloud.

For my backups:

Documents
-Used iWork for iCloud whenever possible for docs, presentations and spreadsheets
-Remaining PDFs are on Dropbox (is there a way to store PDFs directly on iCloud?)

Music
-Entire 10,000+ song library is on iTunes Match to restore from iCloud
-Songs are backed up on external HD as well in case I ever stop using iTunes Match though

Photos
-I have roughly 6,000 photos which I have placed in multiple Photo Stream albums from iPhoto, sorted by year. These are now backed up through iCloud and are accessible on any of my iDevices / Macs.

Video
-Videos are backed up on external HD (any good cloud options here?)

Applications
-Some I can redownload from the Mac Apps store
-Others are backed up on external HD

Calendars, Notes, Reminders and Safari bookmarks are also backed up through iCloud.

I used Dropbox and my external HD for a few remaining files that couldn't be added to iCloud, like Photoshop and Garageband editables.

I wish Apple had a one button iCloud Backup for Macs like they do for iOS devices, but I think this is as close as I can get. Any suggestions for improvement here?
