I purchased 2 iphones...one for me, one for my gf - since apple released the white iphone statement she decided to wait for that

I looked into just returning it, but as far as i can tell open or not (i havent even opened the fedex box it came in) they still charge you a 10% restock fee - call me a cheap ass, but i'm not paying that - plus i figure i can probably make a few bucks

I figured
COST $ 212.93 SOLD $ 842.00
ETF $ 325.00 EBAY $ 80.78
ACTIVATE $ 36.00 PAYPAL $ 25.26
1 MONTH $ 50.00 SHIP $ 10.00

SUM $ 623.93
TOTAL $ 725.96

PROFIT $ 102.03

That was what the phone WENT for on ebay. $100 profit, not bad...however the seller then wanted me to ship international to a non confirmed address - i know better than that so I told him no and he cancelled the bid

So now to my question - what is the best way to sell this - I have to relist it again and that costs $10 per listing (with reserve price) so my profit is going down

Ship only to US? International buyers would seem to be the main ones interested in a new iphone but I could be wrong - I just dont want to get scammed...I fairly familiar with ebay but have never really dealt with international trade - any advice appreciated

thanks!

You're mostly going to get intl buyers because not as many in the USA will be willing to pay a premium to get it.
It's hard for intl buyers to have a confirmed address because of paypal.
Just put a line in the auction that must be 25+ feedback to bid. I sold 2, and 1 was to international with 200+ feedback.
There are good intl buyers out there, just make sure they have the feedback and don't ship to Indonesia, Africa etc. Europe is a good market, but also state it is locked and they will need to wait for a Jailbreak.

Um... you are going through all this hassle to avoid a 10% restock fee? That's like, you refuse to pay what? 21ish bucks?

Go take it back to the store. Wait for white iPhone next month, buy for your girlfriend.

You're liable to get scammed on eBay... it's not worth it, man.

In this release of Ask Maggie, I offer some guidance to a spectator about the best opportunity to offer an old iphone to get the best exchange esteem or cost from a singular purchaser. Not everybody is in the business for the brand-new iphone...thanks
