I bought a 3GS on ebay for $30. It was described as good condition with no cracks or scratches on the screen and in great working order. I received it only to find the home button isn't "Clicky" and only responds if you press very hard, the screen is all scratched, there is a crack in the plastic by the dock connector, and the silent mode rocker doesn't work. The seller was very good about it and refunded the money, but he also let me keep the phone and didn't want it back. Does anyone know any tricks to fix a sticky home button? Better yet, any tricks for a broken mute switch?

One or two small drops of alcohol on the button. Work it in with your finger and let it dry. Sometimes that will clean and fix it. Can't help with the mute switch...
