On every boot I get a message in top corner that I should eject "TM Backup" before unplugging.
It all started when I set up am iMac for my grand niece.
I took my iMac down from desk, there is a 7 port USB hub stuck to the stand and my 500GB TM drive is also stuck to stand and plugged into the hub.
Now before took down was all working fine!
I used my power lead/keyboard/mouse and setup the iMac for grand niece.
But ever since put it back I had this pop up.
It looks like TM is still working as the read led flashes away on the drive fine.
There is not enough USB on Mac alone to run the TM direct hence the hub.
2007 iMac has but 3 ports and two are used for things I need and the external drive has a "Y" cables and needs two USBs to work.
Mac is NOT set to turn off HDDs, but as it on boot it should not be that anyway.
Other devices work off the usb hub fine, card reader, DSLR, 1.8" HDD, 2.5" HDD so I do not think it the hub.
The TM drive is however blank caddie and a drive so maybe the caddie failing?
