I went to setting>about and then a box popped up with a message saying this phone needs a carrier update would you like to update now?

So I updated it and the carrier went from tmobile 15.5 to tmobile 15.6

Does anyone what this actually does?

That page says the iPhone must not be Jailbroken but that didn't stop mine from getting the carrier update several days ago.

I did a carrier update last night... (thought it would make my phone better).

Well...
froze at lock screen, after that ALL of my icons were gone, except for one folder marked "not used" or something like that.
I rest the phone holding both buttons but that did not fix.
Tried to restore and nothing,
Had to almost setup as a new phone.

When I swiped up and you have icons for flashlight, clock, calc, camera all I had was the flashlight...

In a way gives me chance to rearrange icons on the screens and get rid of stuff I don't want but so much more I have to setup now.
All of the stupid stuff io7 has (background, app refresh, bold text), wifi, emails, calendars, ...
