As a local phone with no roaming or outrageous charges for data I need a 'local' company SIM card correct? Is there a recommended carrier and is it as simple as walking in and telling them I need a sim for a week of use and pay?

I want to make sure I understand before we get there later this year!

Thank you.

The Verizon iPhone 6 is unlocked for use on GSM carriers. I've tested by putting my AT&T sim in my Verizon iPhone 6.

I recently just got back from Canada where I used Fido. I bought a SIM for $10 then purchased a basic plan and a gig of data for like $45.

I only used like 500-700MB so I could have paid less but I wanted to make sure. Granted while I was in Canada I had a crappy Android 4.3 phone which made me want to die while using it so I probably used less data than if I could have used my iPhone.
